2. Personal information I may collect

Depending on your interaction with my business, I may collect:

3. How I use your information

Your information may be used to:

I will not use your information for an unrelated purpose unless permitted by law or where the necessary consent has been obtained.

4. Photographs and privacy

Photographs may contain identifiable images of you, your children, family members or other people. I handle these images with care and take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure.

Photographs will be delivered to the client or authorised recipient through the agreed delivery method. I will seek appropriate permission before using identifiable client photographs for portfolio displays, advertising or social media, where required by applicable law.

Please let me know if you have particular privacy concerns before your session.

5. Private client galleries

Where a private online gallery is provided, access may be restricted using a personal identification number (PIN) or other access controls.

Please keep your gallery link and PIN private. Anyone who receives valid access details may be able to view or download the photographs, depending on the gallery settings.

A PIN helps restrict access but does not guarantee that photographs cannot be copied, shared or accessed by an unauthorised person. Please contact me if you suspect that your gallery details have been shared without permission.

6. Sharing information with service providers

I may need to share limited information with service providers who help operate my business, such as website hosting providers, email services, payment providers or tools used to deliver photographs.

Information will only be shared where reasonably necessary for the relevant service, where otherwise lawfully permitted, and subject to appropriate safeguards where required. I do not sell personal information to third parties.

7. How long information is kept

Personal information and photographs are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which they were collected, subject to contractual requirements, applicable laws and legitimate business needs.

Gallery availability and photograph retention periods may differ depending on the service agreed with the client. Please contact me if you would like to enquire about the retention of a particular gallery or set of photographs.

8. Keeping information secure

I take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration. No website, storage device or electronic transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, including South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you may have the right to request access to personal information held about you, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, object to certain processing or request deletion where legally appropriate.

You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. This does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn or processing based on another lawful ground.

To submit a privacy request, email [email protected] . I may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Cookies and website analytics

The website or its hosting provider may use essential technical features, logs or cookies to maintain security and functionality. If analytics, advertising or other tracking technologies are introduced, this policy should be updated to explain what they collect and how any required consent is obtained.
